Job Description
Serco North America is looking for several Communications Technician's to work out of our Colorado Springs office. This position can require up to 50% of national and international travel.
- Under direct supervision, assists higher-level technicians on routine activities and basic tasks typically relating to installation of communications infrastructure, to include the addition or removal of the following Common Systems equipment/hardware such as cable racks (Installation & Anchoring), Frames, Bays, Cabinets & Stands, Fiber Optics Protective/Distribution Systems, and network monitoring, operations, and maintenance
- Experience in central office functions, installations of communications infrastructure, understanding of installation standards, familiarity with basic communications equipment, cable installations, including lacing, wire wrapping fanning and forming, cable terminations including DB, AMP coax, splicing multi-pair copper and fiber, fiber installations
- Must have a working knowledge of a variety of test equipment used to install, troubleshoot, and maintain Telco systems: Bit error rate test sets, audio test sets, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, TDRs, OTDRs, analog and digital multi-meters, and other types of transmission impairment measurement sets
- Assist with DC power cuts.
Required Experience

High School diploma and two to three years of related experience required. Basic reading comprehension, manual dexterity, and vision (color recognition) are essential.
