Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area General Manager (AGM) to lead our Denver, Colorado Power Management Service and Repair Facility. This facility specializes in the repair of Power, Distribution, and Railcar Transformers, as well as electrical switchgear and other power distribution equipment. The AGM will be responsible for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of the location, ensuring the achievement of safety, operational, profit, sales, and customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through the IPS operating system, CIPS (Continuous Improvement Process Solution). This role involves managing and growing three key value streams: in-shop repair, distribution sales, and electrical asset recovery.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Lead the sales team to ensure exceptional customer service and problem resolution, resulting in an "Unmatched Customer Experience."
  • Oversee shop, field service, and inventory operations.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate employees.
  • Design optimal organizational structures and assess business performance against goals.
  • Lead the CIPS program to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Empower employees to make data-driven decisions and eliminate waste through visual management.
  • Develop and execute business strategy and annual operating plans (AOP).
  • Monitor financial, sales, cost, operating, and customer service trends, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with HS&E requirements to protect employees, the public, and the environment.
  • Ensure compliance with the IPS quality management system and ISO standards.
  • Drive training and adherence to standard work instructions to enhance the customer experience.
  • Build and sustain a culture aligned with IPS values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Entrepreneurial Spirit.
  • Foster a Servant Leadership mindset, developing a top-performing team and improving employee engagement.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize resources and overcome business challenges.
  • Analyze industry, market, and service center trends to capture opportunities and address issues.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, from executive management to shop personnel and customers.
  • Develop and maintain key customer relationships.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with strong project management skills.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in general management or operations in an industrial services business, preferably in the electrical equipment segment.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma problem-solving methodologies.
  • 5 years of experience managing large-scale projects.
  • Combined 10 years of experience in the relevant fields.
  • MBA and Lean Certification are advantageous.
