Job Description

Ecolab is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join the RD&E Global Process Engineering Team. Individuals in this role will work independently with minimal direction, expanding existing and developing new processes to enable Ecolab's Competitive Advantage.

As a key member of project teams within RD&E you will provide significant input into project direction, strategy, and timing. You will also lead the process development, scale-up and transfer of new product launches. Individuals are also encouraged to invent new product and processing concepts which may eventually be commercialized.

  • What You Will Do:

  • Design, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical processes for manufacturing Ecolab products such as detergents, sanitizers, and disinfectants.

  • Design experiments using statistical analysis to understand dynamics of chemical processes and formulations

  • Provide direction to pilot plant operations team to execute experiments

  • * Establish process specifications and controls to meet customer and quality requirements

  • Gain expertise in process technology platforms and define manufacturing procedures

  • Lead technology transfer to domestic and global manufacturing plants

  • Pursue continuous improvement and provide ongoing support for safe, efficient, cost-effective, and capable processes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline

  • 2+ years of experience working in chemical manufacturing or research, development and engineering (RD&E) of chemicals

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently

  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically to Ecolab manufacturing locations, potentially up to 20%

  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working in chemical manufacturing or research, development and engineering (RD&E) of chemicals

  • Strong understanding of process safety principles and practices; including inherently safer design, hazard identification and risk assessment, prevention and mitigation strategies, and management of change

  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and technical writing skills

  • Experience with problem-solving techniques

  • Experimental design knowledge and application experience

  • Experience using process modeling or data science for troubleshooting or optimizing manufacturing processes
