OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join a team working on challenging, collaborative, innovative projects within our High Performance Facilities (HPF) Business Unit in our Greenwood Village (Denver Metro), CO location. Basic office hours are 8:00 am MT to 5:00 pm MT, Monday thru Friday. An agreed upon hybrid schedule, working from both home and office, is available to employees in good standings. Only full-time candidates will be considered. Occasional overtime could be needed with short notice. This position may also require some minimal travel.

Typical annual pay range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Description

  • Be a reliable self-starter, quick learner with high organizational skills and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
  • Assist in management of multi-discipline design team to execute national and international projects out of Merrick's Colorado office.
  • Assist in business development (BD) activities including preparation of proposals and supporting proposal development efforts.
  • Exhibit proven technical writing experience and capability. Assist in writing, review, coordination and revision of technical studies and BD proposal documents.
  • Required to work for multiple Project Managers simultaneously with the ability to communicate and coordinate completion of tasks.
  • Become familiar and comply with Merrick's project management systems, procedures and reporting protocols.
  • Monitor scope, schedule, budget, deliverables and client expectations throughout initiation, execution, and closeout phases of projects.
  • Communicate and coordinate with all project and client stakeholders as required for successful project execution, involving multiple lines of effort over sustained periods of project period of performance.
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships.
  • Assist in monitoring and directing the day-to-day work of project technical staff, consultants, contractors.
  • Apply analytical skills to project approaches, standards, and solutions, throughout project lifecycle.
  • Support Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews of BD and project deliverables.
  • Flexibility and experience to receive and disposition a variety of technical and administrative inquiries and issues on a daily basis.
  • Ability to manage and report on multiple tasks and projects at various stages of completion and complexity.
  • Maintain high level of relationship and client satisfaction through strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Once a proposal is accepted, establishes documents and electronic media files for internal accounting and storage of technical data.
  • Ensures internal communication and coordination of design efforts occurs and schedules are met.
  • Prepares external communication and invoices as required.
  • Reviews design documents for conformance to company standards and compliance with client's scope of work.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and business ethics required.
  • Meets expectations for attendance, attitude, and punctuality.
  • Handle offsite document reproduction (schedule, invoice, transport, monitor, etc.) and shipping as required.
  • Provide coordination of meetings (scheduling and setting up rooms, ordering meals, etc.)

Requirements

  • Has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical writing and project administration for multi-discipline Engineering, Architecture or Consulting design projects.
  • Candidate must have a Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution that emphasizes technical writing.
  • The client projects for this position require United States Citizenship.
  • Must had have or be able to obtain low-level security clearance for work with the US Federal Government.
  • Knowledge in working with the US Government Agencies or Department of Defense organizations is a plus.
  • Must be proficient and capable to take courses in Microsoft Office applications, particularly the latest versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Knowledge of Adobe and/or Bluebeam is highly preferred, as is the ability to learn Newforma construction and design management software.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interface successfully with project teams, management, and clients.
  • Local candidates preferred. Relocation will not be considered.
  • Work will be evaluated on accomplishments, technical accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with position requirements.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work in a highly productive, deadline driven working environment. Must provide examples of experience in multitasking and adherence to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on new tasks and learn quickly.
  • Be efficient, have the ability to problem solve and work under pressure.
  • Possess strong customer focus and assure quality products are delivered to the customer.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Needs a demonstrated ability to self-motivate.
  • It is essential that the project coordinator possess a positive and upbeat attitude, can be held accountable, and be a fit into the employee ownership culture of Merrick.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as but not limited to: computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, plotters, and scanners.
