Job Description:

The Principal Analyst - Planning is responsible for developing the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. This position also has the responsibility to ensure that the Sales/Operation/Inventory Plan (SIOP) is created and applied within the ERP System. Principal Analyst - Planning is also in charge of issuing releases to the manufacturing floor and requisitions to purchasing. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the product line(s) with a monthly production plan consistent with the capacity and sales forecast. Working in conjunction with Operations Management and Product Line Manager, the Principal Analyst - Planning is responsible for determining the desired inventory levels including safety stock levels. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans. Strong collaboration with the Product Line Manager, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Supplier Operations, and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.

  • Responsible for leading the cross-functional SIOP monthly cycle in a Mix Model environment driving accuracy in both units and Inventory /Revenue in financial roll-ups
  • Works closely with Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance teams to plan and monitor inventory Levels.
  • Works closely with Marketing, Finance and Sr. Management to validate and sanction the monthly output of the SIOP Cycle (Close loop process).
  • Responsible for generating the Master Production Schedule and the follow on Production Plans for multiple models such as; Make to Stock, Assemble to Order, and Engineer to Order. This includes Buffer Stock programs.
  • Responsible for the correctness of the MPS/MRP outputs in the ERP Operating System
  • Responsible for the Advanced Planning Tool (Smoothie) and item attributes in the operating system.
  • Review and monitor sales forecasts, customer demands, and production starts/completions for lead-time and delivery performance.
  • Responsible for Sales Order Scheduling (Factory Model, Outsource Model, and Government Product/Project Models)
  • Manage the Production Control Activities to ensure that they are supporting the 4 areas of execution. (Starts, In Process, Completions, and Shipments)
  • Manage Inventory reduction, turns, weeks on hand, and positioning projects.
  • Develop and manage local process improvements.
  • Manage and lead the local Demand Planning Team in owning the Item Attributes that drive process, Production Plan execution, Metric base lines, and Inventory positioning.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in materials / supply chain environment
  • Full working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Dynamics AX experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing and JIT techniques.
  • Hands on knowledge of BOM/ECO/PLM process flow and execution.
  • Strong interface capability managing customers and internal stakeholder expectations.
  • Full working knowledge of warehouse operations, and inventory accuracy/materials control.
  • Experience managing and planning in a machine shop environment is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing requirements.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal teams and external parties.
  • Actively pursues opportunities for learning and development of key employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in materials/supply chain or related field and /or equivalent experience preferred.
  • APICS certification is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are preferred

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in Colorado, is $52,000-$146,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
