About the role

Covanta offers our valued CDL Drivers:

  • Hourly Pay (Time and a half after 40)

  • Paid Weekly (Friday)

  • Newer Tractors (with a fridge) no slip seating

Position Description:

The CDL Driver will perform duties associated with transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the client's sites. Drives will have the opportunity to operate a variety of equipment including vacuum tankers, vacuum trucks, vans, and flat beds.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment in a safe manner following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations.

  • Drive commercial vehicles to pick up and transport waste to a designated location safely while meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations.

  • Ensure placarding of the vehicle meets DOT regulations.

  • Maintain paperwork including expense reports, timesheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets.

  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.

  • Secure cargo prior to and during transit.

  • Complete additional assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED preferred.

  • Must be 21 years or older, due to interstate travelin a commercial vehicle and federal regulations.

  • Minimum (2) years of commercial driving experience.

  • CDL Class A with Tanker endorsements.

  • HazMat endorsement preferred but not required.

  • Clean driving record.

  • Ability to use a tablet for E-Logs.

  • Abide by standard DOT regulations at all times.

The expected hourly pay rate for this position is $27.00 - $29.00.

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Covanta is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
