WORK SHIFT

DAY (United States of America)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Performs fundamental forklift responsibilities in the shipping and receiving warehouse.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

  • Operates all forklift equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Transports crates and palletized materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Load/unload trailers
  • Loads palletized product onto designated warehouse locations following inventory-control procedures.
  • Item picking from conventional racking locations throughout the warehouse.
  • Receiving sterile/non-sterile product into conventional racking locations following inventory-control procedures
  • Loads goods onto conveyor belt and specified rack locations.
  • Performs daily inspections on fork-lift equipment before use e.g. battery/fluid level, tires, forks, etc.
  • Additional tasks, duties, and projects as assigned

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Lifting - Not to exceed 50 lbs. - local practice may apply.
  • Significant verbal communication skills
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, crouch, carry, kneel, sit, walk, climb, reach with hands/arms, push and pull
  • Able to operate a pallet jack
  • Visual acuity
  • Color perception
  • Depth perception
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Adequate math, reading and writing skills
  • Fine motor skills
  • Able to withstand loud noise

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized & safe workstation.
  • Observational skills - extreme attention to detail, problem solving, analytical & systematical skills.
  • Time management skills - punctuality and ability to work under strict time constraints while minimizing distractions. Deadlines must be met in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Active listening Skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, data entry/data analysis and other applicable software programs)
