This Opportunity

We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic part-time Satellite Operators (we have a few openings) to join our team at our headquarters in Louisville, Colorado. Our offices are a few miles from both downtown Louisville and Boulder with easy access to several restaurants and cafes. This is an opportunity to be a part of the space industry and make an impact. This is a critical role for the company and requires dedication and commitment with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone currently attending University studying aerospace engineering, mechatronics engineering, astrodynamics, or similar field.

Your Impact

    Perform telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C) for assigned satellites
  • Receive and process satellite telemetry and mission data
  • Upload spacecraft commands and verify responses
  • Monitor spacecraft performance and detect anomalies
  • Monitor payload performance, including science instruments and instrument support subsystems
  • Ensure that ground system network assets are available, functioning, and configured to support mission requirements
  • Prepare status reports for management
  • Operate spacecraft in accordance with approved procedures and the daily operations plan
  • Strive to achieve and keep highest possible level of competency to perform all assigned duties and have the awareness to know when to escalate for assistance
  • Reliable and accurate execution of spacecraft operating procedures
  • Operate ground station independently or in partnership with responsible employee
  • Rotate shifts on 24-hour schedule, 7 days per week, approximate 29 hours a week
  • Maintain a professional personal and workplace appearance
  • Maintain technical proficiency by periodically reviewing procedures and other spacecraft documentation
Qualifications

Required

  • Proficient with industry standard office computer software such as word processors, and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must BE ABLE TO OBTAIN and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Ability to work error free in (perceived) high stress situations
  • Ability to follow approved operational procedures
  • High operational awareness
  • Flexibility in working times
  • Display an ability and interest to continuously learn
  • Stay calm under pressure
  • HS 5-6 Years

Preferred

  • Technical training and experience in satellite communications and operation, electronics, telecommunications, IT, or another related field
  • Experience with Linux, and Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience with Linux/Unix shell languages like Bash and Ruby
  • May require security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance
