Senior Manager, Tax Technology - Denver, Colorado

Role Responsibilities

  • Engaging regularly with tax technology experts outside of Western Union to identify current trends in automation within tax (artificial intelligence, business intelligence, etc.).
  • Engaging periodically with Western Union internal IT teams to understand and keep abreast of Western Union's data sources and technology tools and identify efficient uses for tax.
  • Working cross functionally within the global tax department on an ongoing basis to understand current and evolving data needs, systems/software and technologies and develop and lead implementation of more efficient, effective, and coordinated methods and processes.
  • Documenting technology driven data flows, such as Alteryx workflows, to ensure we have clear instructions that can be used across the team now and in the future to continue seamless transition of automated processes.
  • Manage Indirect Tax Compliance obligations across the US and Canada, including sales and use tax, GST, property tax, gross receipts and excise tax.
  • Special Projects- Work cross functionally to assist business with new product implementation and indirect tax issues related to the areas of compliance that this role manages

Role Requirements

  • 10 years tax/finance experience, or equivalent
  • Bachelor's, preferably in BA, Tax or Finance
  • CPA or JD preferred
  • Advanced- Proficiency in learning and implementing new technologies and tax systems
  • Intermediate- Indirect Tax Compliance
  • Advanced- Tax Research skills, including written analysis
  • Intermediate-Knowledge of Oracle/HFM systems
  • Advanced- Managerial and communication skills

Salary

The base salary range is $130,000-180,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus long-term and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies
