In the role of Industrial Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Coordinate work for the I&C design team on oil and gas facilities, industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, and mining projects through the design development and construction phases of a project.
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design and production meetings with regard to electrical and I&C systems.
  • Assume the I&C lead on many projects.
  • Coordinate workload to complete projects and documents on schedule.
  • Provide client and/or project management on select clients and projects as needed.
  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Coordinate with other discipline leads and project managers to ensure designs are consistent and compatible with the full project design and project scope.
  • Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
  • Write and edit I&C specifications, and select equipment and monitoring/control devices
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents
  • Conduct QA/QC on the work of other I&C Engineers.
  • Research design options for projects and provide recommendations for the project.
  • Review various codes & standards to ensure design is compliant.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to client/contractor RFI's during the construction phase of a project
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • PLC/WTP and WWTP software programming experience
  • Hands-on experience designing I and C Systems, including schematics and loops
  • Experience managing I and C projects
  • Knowledge of Modicon, Wonderware and Interlution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience with an A&E/Consulting Engineering firm
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel as needed. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record under the HDR Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain professional registration.
  • Previous experience in the Industrial industry (oil & gas, Industrial manufacturing, food & beverage, or mining).
  • Have a general understanding of electrical and power design such that, on smaller projects, the combined role of "Electrical and I&C" engineer can be filled.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Preference for local candidates.

The expected compensation range for this position is $75,614.00 - $124,223.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
