HDR currently has an opening for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO. The primary duties of the position include

  • To provide engineering, design, and project technical production services.
  • Support Project Engineers and Project Managers in development of transportation/traffic studies such as traffic operations analyses, traffic impact analyses, micro-simulation modeling, and traffic signal timing plans.
  • Primary duties include working as part of a traffic team on a variety of transportation, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects.
  • Operational traffic analysis may include using a variety of modeling tools ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro-simulation models in order analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity
  • Maintains effective communication with project team members and with clients
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

The primary requirements of the position include

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • 1 year traffic analysis, traffic engineering/design, or travel demand modeling preferred. Entry level will be considered
  • Experience with traffic analysis tools and micro- and/or mesoscopic models such as Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, VISSIM, and TransModeler
  • Strong technical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture

The expected compensation range for this position is $68,162.00 - $92,219.00 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
