Description

The UCLA Gambling Studies Program is seeking to hire a Student Assistant 1 to provide administrative support to theadministrative and research staff. This position involves a wide variety of responsibilities, including tracking and entering data and managing data sets and databases, creating spreadsheets, conducting phone surveys, basic data analysis, screening of and assisting research subjects in various studies, and writing up results. Minimum commitment is 15-20 hours per week. Pre-Med/Psychiatry, Neuroscience and Psychology majors/minors preferred.

* Must be a current UCLA Student.

Pay Range: $16.25 - $19.25 hourly

Qualifications

  • Must be a current UCLA Student.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with all staff, faculty, students, patients, volunteers and the public.
  • Must have strong computer skills, proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office programs - especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to compile and track data.
  • Skill in establishing priorities, working independently and completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust workload.
  • Knowledge of University library system.
  • Working knowledge of PubMed and End Note.
